Bio

Dana Sorey is a musician, arranger, composer, songwriter, and founder of C Bazz Entertainment and C Blake Studios.  He began playing the piano when he was 8 years old.  It became apparent at a very young age that he was naturally gifted with creating music.  He has never had a formal music lesson, but it became evident in his teenage years that he was able to emulate and play whatever he heard.  He started playing in his grandfather’s church, where his Dad was the church’s organist.  God began to cultivate his ear and his love for chords and melodies.  Shedding in garages with his brothers and the neighborhood musicians began the musical journey, and became the training ground for honing his craft towards becoming a consummate musician.  One of Dana’s most cherished achievements was being a part of one of the most notable bands in gospel music history, Soundcheck, with Tye Tribbett and Greater Anointing (GA).  Dana’s experience with the group catapulted his musical ability to a distinguished level beyond simply playing, and was the impetus that enabled him to segue from musician to arranger to producer.

As a result of God’s favor and Dana’s hard work and passion for music, he has acquired Stellar and Grammy Award nominations in addition to a Dove Award for co-producing Anthony Brown’s “A Long Way from Sunday.” He produced with Tye Tribbett on Victory Live and Standout, where he co-wrote “I Need You” and “Good in the Hood”.  Dana was afforded the opportunity to work alongside world-renowned Gospel producer, Aaron Lindsey, on both Marvin Sapp’s hit records Thirsty and Here I Am. Dana also produced and co-wrote Gospel hit records with long-time friend, Jason Nelson such as Shifting the Atmosphere, Nothing Without You, I Am, and hit single, “Forever”. Along the way, Dana and Jason have received a few highly notable ASCAP Song-Writer awards.

Dana continues to contribute a vibrant sound to gospel music by producing and co-writing with Gospel’s next generation. Dana is very enthused about his first artist, AnG White, and her freshman project I Am AnG White. In 2017, Dana has partnered with Ken Pennell, Monica Coates, and EJ Gaines of Motown Gospel and has co-written and produced with newcomers Gene Moore and Lexi. Most recently, he has collaborated with Stephanie Wilkinson of Red Alliance Media/Fair Trade to produce top-charting The Maranda Experience and Open Heaven-The Maranda Experience albums with Gospel’s new powerhouse artist Maranda Curtis. In 2018, Dana garnered a Stellar Award nomination for Producer of the Year for his contribution to Anthony Brown and Group Therapy’s record A Long Way from Sunday.

Dana puts most of his energy into expanding his full-house production companies, C Bazz Entertainment and C Blake Studios. Dana’s exclusive studio in Delaware is known as an oasis for creativity.  C Bazz Entertainment’s capabilities include providing production, not only for records but also commercially. Dana has also done Programming and Stage Coaching for Christian artists, such as the #1 Top Christian artist, Francesca Battistelli, Love and the Outcome, and About a Mile, to mention a few.  His work includes R&B Boys II Men’s “Bounce, Shake, Move, Swing” which was chosen to be the theme song for the first season of America’s Top Model.  C Bazz Entertainment continues to expand its music production to levels that transcend the norm.

Currently, Dana serves as a voting member of The Philadelphia Chapter Recording Academy and puts most of his energy into building his production company, C Bazz Entertainment. If you were wondering, Dana acquired the nickname “C Bazz” from Soundcheck and the Tye Tribbett camp. The MO for C Bazz Entertainment is to give musical life to the lyrics of an artist. The vision of the company is to incline the listener to embark on a musical journey that will hopefully result in a touch from the Holy Spirit. Every project is a personal privilege to Dana. C Bazz Entertainment’s niche is to provide a sound of excellence beyond the artist’s expectation. C Bazz Entertainment’s capabilities include providing production, not only for records but also commercially. His works include the theme song, “Bounce, Shake, Move, Swing” for the first season of “America’s Next Top Model”, commercial production for Walmart and McDonalds, music for New York’s Christmas Tree lighting for Macy’s. C Bazz Entertainment has also begun a new music production venture doing industry-standard sweepers, I.D.’s & shotguns for radio stations. The company continues to expand its music production to levels that transcend the norm.
